Minnesota Chorale Bridges Concert “Join the Dance”

I was privileged to film the concert held at the SPCO Center of MN Chorale’s 2011 Bridges concert series focusing on the disabled community in the Twin Cities. They (we, I am also a member of the MN Chorale) partnered with Courage Center, the Dance Exchange in the Washington, D.C. area, VSA MN, and Young Dance. Below are two numbers that I taped at the SPCO Center in the Hamm building. Special thanks to Matt from the center whose assistance made my job easier. He also is responsible for the audio for the tape.

Zenfolio, the service that I use for hosting the pictures and transferring them to clients has started to offer video hosting. The issue for REALTORS and for me is will the video be legal for hosting on our regional MLS service.

This example loads fast, will scale to various sizes as needed and does not link out!!

Camp Coldspring. Why haven’t I seen this before?

I was reading an article in the Star/Tribune earlier this week and came across this story about the Camp Coldspring that basically is the place where the first European settlement in MN was close to(dangling participle?).  Just north of Fort Snelling and south of the Minnehaha Falls, it’s not the easiest place to find.  It’s surrounded by former US Bureau of Mines abandoned buildings.  Not the most serene location for a spring that makes it’s way under a road on it’s way to the river.

The interesting thing about the site is that on one side of the property there is a path (trail) with all kinds of NO TRESSPASSING signs and on the other path that runs on the west side, there’s nothing.  I don’t quite get that.  Anyway, all the buildings are going to torn down in November so I decided to go there and check out the area.  I look forward to the look of the land when the buildings are gone.

The location is at 54th Street and Hiawatha.  As you cross Hiawatha Ave you’ll see a Camp Coldwater sign.  You can drive in. At least you could this week.
UPDATE: Apparently, they have closed down the site until later next year as of November 1.

Teresa Boardman’s blog about “Taking better pictures or…”

Teresa Boardman, a St. Paul REALTOR and blogger, has a great article about the importance of quality professional pictures for your listings and how to get them. The article has some great stats if you follow the other links proving that paying for Professional pictures can pay big dividends for your self and your listing clients.

My Visit to Minnehaha Falls Today

After shooting several exteriors (and 1 fireplace), I decided to stop down at the Minnehaha Falls Park to see what’s what.  We just had about a foot of new snow and it was a beautiful sunny day.  It’s easy enough to get to the park, but a little harder to get down to the falls’ base.  The park board closes the stairs, so climbing is at your own risk.  I also decide to take my full camera pack weighing in at about 30+ ponds.  Never know what you might need.

By the way, make sure you pay for parking!!
